I have come to a realization. I spend WAY too much time with my technology. I mean, the past few days when I haven't had much going on, I spent a good part of the day on my computer. And what was I doing? Absolutely nothing. Reading pointless posts, playing Oregon Trail on Facebook, and watching random YouTube videos. Why did I all of a sudden realize and think about how much time I had been on my computer. Well, I was on passiveagressivenotes.com and I saw this picture.
I read this note and at first I thought it was hilarious. Then I realized how true it was. Even earlier today as I was waiting with a large group of people to go to an orientation, almost every person had their cell phones out and were just staring at them. Myself included. So this is a letter to you and myself. GET OFF THE INTERNET! It feels very hypocritical writing that on a blog on the Internet, but it's true. I mean, there is so much more I could have been doing these past couple of days, yet I didn't do any of it. I mean, there were things I accomplished on the Internet, like getting a job interview, but somehow, I just think I need a few days of very little Internet use as well as computer use. So, starting tomorrow, instead if spending my time inside at my computer, I am going to go outside and read a book or do something else fun. Maybe take a walk somewhere, the possibilities are huge. Hopefully, it brings about a more productive and exciting summer.
As always, until tomorrow,
Sincerely,
-EBS
